Clinical Hypnotherapy is a combination of Hypnosis & Counselling. Of all the therapies it produces the most immediate results. This is because we are dealing with the subconscious mind where habits are formed and stored. At Mind over Matter, Clinical Hypnotherapy is performed by a qualified Psychotherapist. Your session comprises traditional Counselling, where issues are identified and discussed and then Clinical Hypnosis, where suggestions for positive change are put to the subconscious mind.
No, this is Clinical Hypnotherapy and not stage Hypnotism or TV drama. Stage Hypnotism is a magic show designed to entertain. It is the same with TV drama Hypnosis or what you might see in a move. Clinical Hypnotherapy is delivered by a trained professional and you will be in control at all times.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is a gentle yet very powerful method the assist with real and lasting change. Clients who attend for Hypnotherapy sit comfortably while they discuss issues they want to address. Relaxation Coaching is about taking or creating a holiday in your mind and letting it completely calm and relax your body. We guide and teach you how in this 3 session program.
The aim is to relax your body and mind to the point where you can go about your everyday life feeling calm, resilient and in control. It is very much like having a spa for your mind. Each session includes a take home audio that guides you on your mind ‘holiday’. The audio series is called: “Holiday for the Mind”.

Mindfulness is result of focusing on the present moment. Because mindfulness practice delivers such profound results, we use and teach mindfulness practices in all of our sessions and programs. I am a Psychotherapist. I have a degree in Psychology with post graduate studies and qualifications in Resource Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Relaxation Therapy, Meditation and Mindfulness. I have over 30 years experience as a Therapist and I’ve helped countless individuals achieve positive change.

I follow the Client Centred approach as developed by Carl Rodgers. Carl Ransom Rogers was an American psychologist and among the founders of the humanistic approach (or client – centred approach) to psychology. He believed that for a person to “grow”, they needed an environment that provided them with genuineness (openness and self-disclosure), acceptance (being seen with unconditional positive regard), and empathy (being listened to and understood). Rogers believed that every person could achieve their goals, wishes, and desires in life.
This is what my practice is all about.
Rogers also believed that without these conditions, relationships and healthy personalities could not develop as they should, much like a tree will not grow without sunlight and water.
